Hotels in Warsaw

Hotels in Warsaw is my personal review of hotels in Warsaw – both based on my own experiences and on the ratings I’ve received from the guests I show around Warsaw as a guide.

This is just a Hotel Warsaw shortlist

There are many more hotels in Warsaw, but I’ll limit myself to the ones I know about and think are OK. In other words, I’ve left out a few that I don’t think I would want to live in myself.

Finally, I’m describing the mid-range and luxury class. I have two hostels where I’ve had groups of young people, but in general, I simply don’t have a basis for writing about the cheapest places.

Booking.com is a guarantee when you book an apartment from a private landlord, but a burden for hotels

However, I know that many people rent private apartments through Booking.com and are happy with this.

On the other hand, hotels prefer you to book directly. Hotel booking sites are a necessity for hotels, but their huge fees are a burden. You will often get a better service or standard if you book direct, even if they can’t say this directly. And in the long run, we get cheaper rooms if we book directly.

Wild luxury in the city centre

Three hotels located 10 minutes from the Presidential Palace and the Old Town of Warsaw. Expect to pay around 200 Euro and upwards for a double room, and if you want a luxury apartment the price can be much higher. Great hotels for visitors who want to spoil themselves.

Hotel Warszawa in a functionalist pre-war building at Świętokrzyska street

Hotel Warszawa

Outstanding large rooms, conference rooms and spa in a historic building from 1933. The 17 storeys were originally in Art Deco style. The building was seriously damaged during WWII, and repaired in socialist style. After a renovation in 2018, parts of the original art deco have been restored. From the hotel you can walk to the Palace of Culture, the Old City and the Jewish Museum (POLIN) in 10 minutes.

Hotel Raffles Europejski Warszawa

Hotel Europejski is the most expensive of the luxury hotels, perhaps because it has just reopened after an extensive renovation. The rooms are large and the interior design is of the highest quality. Looking at the cars parked in front of the hotel, you know that the guests belong to the financial elite. The hotel was originally built by a famous architect family – Marconi – in 1877.

Hotels in Warsaw

Hotel Bristol

The hotel is located next to the Presidential Palace. Large rooms with beautiful decor. Multiple meeting rooms, spa and luxury. The hotel was completed in 1901 and the famous Warsaw architect, Władysław Marconi, was responsible for its construction. His father was also an architect and responsible for the luxury Hotel Europejski, located across the street. The hotel was only slightly damaged during WW2. After World War II, it was able to operate as a hotel again from 1945. Despite a renovation and modernisation in 2013, you can still feel that this is an old hotel with traditions.

3 cosy mid-range hotels in Praga

The right side of the river is traditionally considered less ‘posh’ than the left bank, but since the metro arrived in Praga a few years ago, the area has developed at record speed. There are plenty of small pubs and local atmosphere and the tourists haven’t invaded the neighbourhood yet, so you can enjoy the area pretty much as it is and in less than 10 minutes you can take the metro to the Old Town or the Palace of Culture. Prices at the 3 hotels are around 100 Euro per night for a double room, unless you find a special offer – and you will, when there are many rooms available.
